Apres-ski  Val Thorens
Val Thorens has some 40 pubs/bars/disco's, some are typical Dutch, Danish or English but everywere you will find a very mixed public in Val Thorens due to all the different nationalities (20% Dutch, 20% French, 20% Scandinavian, 20% English and 20% other). The Bars are open until 2.00 o'clock but the discoteques like Beach Mountain and the Underground are open until 5.00 or 6.00 o'clock in the morning! If you do not want to pay too much for a beer, you should watch the happy hours which most of the bars have and which can save you a lot of money!

CAFE SNESKO:

Cafe SneSko Opening hours: the party starts at 18.00 until around 22.00 In this Danish bar the public determines the music the band will play. Most of them are of course Danish songs or old classic hits. The atmosphere is fantastic, the public is dancing on the tables and when the door opens it is getting foggy outside, but it is the real apres-ski party. The band plays as long as the public is paying and singing.

The highest pub in Europe:  The Frog & Roastbeef Opening hours: 09.00 - 01.30 A legendary English bar, which is the highest in Europe. Every evening live music from 17.00 uur and dancing on the table is guaranteed! Try also the Frog Yard Challenge and win the whole evening free drinks. During the day they also have a good menu and they have a sunny terras.	The Beachmountain One of the two disco's where you can dance from 24.00 to 5.00-6.00 in the morning. They have very good dance music and often they have popular dj's. Prices are quite expensive, even for French high mountain standards.  You can also enter Beach Mountain for free until 1.00 o'clock, you need to go first to Agora and than you can go to The Beachmountain.
The Viking A scandinavian name for a bar where you will find mostly English and Dutch people. You can also use the internet facilities in the bar, although they are quite expensive.	O'Connells Next to the Frog is O'Connells, a real Irish pub with a French owner, runned by a Danish manager with often Swedish people behind the bar which results in real Scandinavian parties in Valtho.
Agora A nice bar with lots of tables and chairs so it does not get too crowded. Also often live (rock) music and you will find a lot of Danish, English and French people.	Yorin Bar / La Luna (former Bloopers) Opening hours 16.00 -02.00 Opposite of Le Monde, at the other side of the square is the Dutch bar, the Yorin Bar. The Undergound Below Le Monde is The Undergound located. The Underground is one of the two discoteques where you can party until earlie int the morning. The Underground is a more dirty place but not very expensive and is a good place for a real long night with partying!	De Tex Mex It is more a mexican restaurant than an apres-ski bar but it is always busy at 17.00 hour with a lot of people celebrating again a fantastic day skiing in Val Thorens. In front of theTex-mex is also a big terras where your are in the middle of the apres ski with on one side Le Monde and at the other side the Yorin Bar. Diner is more like a factory, it is not expensive but also not very good.
Le Monde Opening hours 16.00 -02.00 Only Dutch people will come to Le Monde and most of the music is Dutch apres-ski/carnaval music. Also it is very busy and everybody is looking at each other without making a good party. Restaurants in Val Thorens

In Val Thorens there are about 25 restaurants. Below a selection of a few restaurants:

Hotel Val Thorens In the “Restaurant Le Val Thorens” (Thursday live music) or in the “La Fondue Restaurant” (Tuesday live muziek) you can enjoy delicious fondue meals or other specialties from the Savoy. Both restaurants are located in the complex of the Hôtel "Le Val Thorens", Place de l'Eglise.	L'Arc en Ciel Is one of the better restuarants in Val Thorens where you can not only stay in the afternoon on there terrif terras and anjoy the sunshine but where you can eat also very good the Savoyard kitchen. The restaurant is next to the tourist office and in front of the bar Agora.
Chalet des Glaciers The restaurant is located next to Le Monde in the quarter le Peclet. You will not expect it in between the apres-ski bars but the food is very good. The kitchen is especially specialised in cheese fondues and other dishes from the Savoy, like most of the better restaurants in Val Thorens.	Chalet de Thorens In this complex in the middle of the slopes near Val Thorens (next to the lifts Moraine and Portette), you will find several restaurants. You can eat here very well with bigger groups and decent with torches in the late evening. Also there are several terrasses where you can enjoy the sun all day. The kitchen varies from fast food till fondue the Savoy.
